Study this web site, and you will learn to visualize what life will be like when each and every human being on this planet

In such a world,

Can you imagine it? No? Well, that's the point. At this web site, you can learn to imagine it. And then you can live it. IdeaFarm (tm) City is not a future possibility. It is a reality today. And you are invited. "Come, Eat With Us!"

Don't be intimidated by what you read here. We aren't looking for geniuses, although they are welcome, too, if they behave themselves. The geniuses will have questions, and they will find answers here. But these pages are mostly designed to invite normal, everyday, good strong men and women to a simple, beautiful, idea. If you are a good strong man or woman, or would like to become one, study this site, and discuss it with others. Then get involved. Those who are involved are never asked to do more than "lift a finger". You will never be asked to make a donation of either time or money. And you will never be asked to endorse any of the organizer's ideas or activities. Full involvement (membership in IdeaFarm (tm) Associates) simply means that you are willing to commit, publicly, to living unselfishly. And you can "Come, Eat With Us!" anonymously for twenty years or more without ever becoming a member.

IdeaFarm (tm) City is an "external association". An "external association" is an association that exists under the protective aegis of the U.S. Constitution yet operates outside of the jurisdiction of U.S. law. Citizens of the United States of America operate outside of the jurisdiction of U.S. law whenever they travel to a foreign territory. Such travelers are within the jurisdiction of the sovereign government of that territory. U.S. citizens abroad are subject to U.S. law only to the extent that it applies on foreign soil.

The Internet, i.e. "cyberspace", can be viewed as a newly discovered continent, a new "place" where people can associate. No territorial government has any basis for claiming that place to be within its territory. Wo'O Ideafarm, a citizen of the United States of America, asserts his right to create an external association that exists in cyberspace.

IdeaFarm (tm) City, an external association constituted by declaration in 1999, is the property of Wo'O Ideafarm. The Constitutional Declaration of IdeaFarm (tm) City prohibits its Governing Proprietor from accumulating wealth and from transferring its "critical assets" to another person, and requires full financial disclosure. These prohibitions effectively convert IdeaFarm (tm) City into a nonprofit entity. In the U.S., a corporation is subordinate to the state government that granted its charter. To avoid this subordination, IdeaFarm (tm) City is constituted as a sole proprietorship. As such, IdeaFarm (tm) City enjoys the full protection given by U.S. law to the private property of a U.S. citizen.

IdeaFarm (tm) City is a civic and political project that will advance liberty and justice. The opening of humanity's "Gnu World" to emigration will give every human being on the planet the ability to "opt out" of his local territorial economic, political, and social system. The implications are staggering. This empowerment of the individual to "opt out" will redefine political power.

The word "political" derives from "polis", Greek for "the people". Our use of the word "political" to refer to control over territory illustrates the close association, in our thinking, between control over a land and control over the people who live on that land. The Gnu World sunders this connection. The need to control territory will remain, but control of a territory will no longer imply control of the people who live within it. The opening of the Gnu World to emigration will force a historic shrinking of the scope of territorial government.

IdeaFarm (tm) City is the indirect product of the organizer's residency at the University of Chicago as a Ph.D. student of economics, circa 1980. That residency was funded for three years by the Sloan Foundation and the Hillman Foundation. No other private, and no public, funds, were used. All project expenses have been funded by the organizer, who lived in his car and worked as a construction laborer for a decade while completing the software for this project. The Constitutional Declaration (1999) prohibits the Governing Proprietor from accepting donations. The project is now funded solely by the export of products and services produced within IdeaFarm (tm) City. Such products and services are marked with the IdeaFarm (tm) trademark.

This is the official site for software products marked with the IdeaFarm (tm) trademark.

Software services within IdeaFarm (tm) City are provided at cost. Cost is typically zero or tiny, so the typical service is provided for free.
