A weekly dinner gathering in your postal code, led by a teenager host
IdeaFarm (tm) Associates is an adult association with meetings open to, and suitable for, children, families, the elderly, and the disabled. Its mission is to reform adult society. But this mission is placed completely into the hands of teenagers. There is only one leadership role, and to be in that role, you must be a teenager. The dinners are opportunities for every person in a postal code to experience true community for one hour each week. By "experiencing community" we don't mean coming to the dinner to take; we mean coming to the dinner to give. Each participant is invited to give a full hour to the dinner, to making himself or herself available to whoever is seated nearby at the table. For one hour per week, participants make themselves available to people in their postal code without regard to economic, social, or racial status. A few simple ground rules for the dinners are provisionally given here. As IdeaFarm (tm) Associates develops experience, the teenagers who host our "village gatherings" (the dinners) will replace these rules with those of their own making: Disabled people, especially those with neurological disorders, are often completely isolated from normal people. Our village gatherings fulfill our mission only if they are open and welcoming to all. If a disabled person in a wheelchair has a voice that makes you laugh, just tell him that you are not used to being around disabled people, but you would like to become used to it! Anonymity makes it easier for people to make themselves available to strangers for an hour. Respect the privacy of any at the dinner who you recognize. If you recognize a famous or rich person, keep quiet. Let the homeless person sitting next to her give her an hour of pure, true, friendship, unpolluted by awareness of her fame. Even if everyone at the table recognizes her, it should not be mentioned. LEGAL NOTICE:
